I specialize in representing my clients in the purchases and sales of residential, commercial and investment properties in the cities of Boise, Nampa, Meridian, Eagle, Caldwell and throughout the Treasure Valley. I keep current with market statistics in these areas.

Since becoming licensed in 1996, I have averaged selling 70 homes each year.  My clients know they can count on my experience to best sell their home as well as the best guidance in purchasing a home.

Though I have hundreds of hours in education in all aspects of real estate, I consider myself a specialist in residential properties.  Whether it is a single-family home or multi-family dwellings, this is where I shine in expertise and in negotiating skills.

A Quick Background

Don is a 1982 graduate of Caldwell High School. He attended Treasure Valley Community College and Boise State University. He was employed as a sales rep for a sporting goods distributor in Caldwell, Idaho. Don then began a career in drafting and design in the Engineering Dept. for a manufactured housing company. After realizing he was more of a “people person”, he then managed a retail music store for nearly 7 years before beginning his Real Estate career in 1996.

Don is now Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Advantage a real estate firm in Nampa, Idaho with nearly 60 full-time real estate associates. As well as being a member of the Top Producers Club and a recipient of the RE/MAX Platinum Award, Don has furthered his education as a Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and is an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). In 2003, Don was awarded the “Hometown Hero” award by the Idaho Association of Realtors for making a difference in his community. He is known around the area for his honesty in business, his community involvement and for his Idaho “HOME 4U” license plate. Most recently, Don has completed further education, making him Quality Service Certified®.

Real Estate Services for Buyers and Sellers

Don provides real estate services for both buyers and sellers, specializing in residential properties. He attributes most of his success to hard work and caring for the people he serves. Some of his creative marketing techniques include the use of the internet, the Talking House System and direct mail in addition to traditional real estate promotions. The Team Approach

Don works with a team approach, knowing that his time is valuable to and appreciated by his customers and clients. Don's right hand in the business is his assistant, Wendy Hafer. Wendy has been working as Don's Administrative Assistant since 2000. Wendy is a graduate of Boise State University and has a degree in Health Promotion.  Wendy has coached youth soccer and highschool basketball and soccer. She knows how a team should operate!  Wendy is responsible for customer care and transaction coordinating.  Her cheerful voice and contageous laughter keeps their team running with high energy!

Kelly VanCleave is the newest member of Don's team.  Kelly is a full-time student at Albertson College of Idaho in Caldwell.  His primary responsibilities include printed materials i.e.  property flyers, postcard mailings and website maintenance.  Don leans on Kelly for taking care of details.  If it's a sign that needs to be placed in the yard or an errand run across town, Kelly is the dependable guy to get the job done!

The "in-house" team is extended through Don's office at RE/MAX Advantage where his office manager, Jodie Engel takes her job seriously and eximplifies her work ethic with pride!  Jodie is on top of managing all the files for the office as well as general managing of the front desk.  Debbie Howard is the front desk receptionist who is Jodie's right hand.  She assists with MLS property input and file management and has over 17 years experience in running a real estate office.

Beyond the office....Don has a group of specialized individuals that help complete the team approach. Community Involvement

Don is the past President and Board member of the Nampa Association of Realtors. He was selected by his peers as the 2000 “Realtor of the Year” for the Nampa Association. Don is also a member of the Honor Society for the Idaho Association of Realtors and a member of the National Association of Realtors. He is a member of the Nampa Rotary Club and serves as President for the Treasure Valley God & Country Festival and is a member of the Nampa, Caldwell & Meridian Chambers of Commerce. Modern Woodmen of America has selected Don to be a National Officer for their Company and Don has served as Watchman during their national convention in 2005.

Personal

Don has been married to his wife Barbara for over 22 years. They have two sons, Tyler, age 18 and Mitchell, age 16. They attend Valley Pentecostal Church in Caldwell. They live in Nampa on a 1-acre parcel where they have room for their cats "Kisa" (Finnish) and "Gato" (Spanish) and their miniature Dachshund (German), "Sparky". He enjoys 4-wheeling with his boys and an occasioanl camping trip.

Don takes "therapy time" working in the yard and taking care of the landscaping. He is currently working on a small development project near his home, called Cherry Springs where he plans to have 47 building sites for custom residential homes with a common pool facility and walking paths. Construction is slated to begin the Summer of 2009.

He enjoys his work most, but loves golfing, biking and classic cars.
