SEO Espionage
Competitive Intelligence August 1st, 2007
Standard Podcast: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (180)
We start with a mission impossible theme this time around, then explain how to get started dissecting what your competitors are doing. We don’t get into everything here (it is, after all, just a beginner’s podcast), but instead get you started so you can get your creative juices flowing. Not everything you learn has to be taught, so we’ll give you a basis and you can go from there.

Great post. I loved the theme and intro even though it took a long time to do it. Good ideas. Many specific helpful tools. Thanks everyone.

Can I make another suggestion?
I think it would be a good idea to add links of note mentioned in the podcast to the posts on this web site (there were a few mentioned recently that I took a mental note of then instantly forgot!).
Thanks.

I’ll listen to the podcast again and write down which sites we mentioned then add them to the recap. I’ll try to get to it this weekend.

I’ll second Jordan’s comments. I thought I heard a reference to resources being posted in the “show notes” but I’ve yet to see a link like I do with most podcasts.

Great episode! I captured some notes and tool info. I didn’t get “ragmon” (sp?), the tool that breaks down the phrases for which competitors are getting traffic.

Thanks for helping us be SEO 007s!

Thanks, PixelBella.
The other one is http://www.rankmon.com/ and is great for checking out phrases other sites get traffic for.
Is SEO 007 higher level than SEO 101? LOL.
