What can you do totally apart from your site to increase traffic from search engines? If you sell products, you can optimize some data feeds. We talk to Brian Smith of Singlefeed about DFO today.

    we would like to try out data feed optimization. but we as a business we are not sure about the outcome of the exercise. Recently, we solicited quotes from www.channeladvisor.com www.noz4biz.com and loveyourdatafeed, but are unsure whom to go with. Please advise.

    I haven’t heard of noz4biz, but channeladvisor and loveyourfeed are both great companies depending on the level of service you need. Mercent is another you could take a look at, as is feedperfect.

    Done right, you should see a great boost in sales. Done wrong, you should still see at least a slight bump in traffic.

    Most important thing to keep in mind: start with Google Base and perfect your feed’s information and get your conversion rate built up before trying to use the PPC shopping engines. They can get VERY expensive in a hurry if your conversion rate isn’t what it needs to be to cover the clicks.

    Wow-well done.

    As you said, another acronym to add to my acro-ary (I made that up). I saw DFO and DFM a few times and had no idea. I’ve used Google Products but never thought about using it to market a service. I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks to both Brian’s.
