    Session details

A few people have been asking for some more details about the conference sessions, so we’ve updated the schedule with a more detailed description of what to expect from each session, and we’ve even tagged each session with the main areas it will be focussed on. Visit individual days for more on the sessions that day

    More Like This

February looks to be a hot month for Vancouver web conferences. If you’re thinking of staying in town for a few days after hitting the slopes, you might be interested in checking out the Vancouver PHP Conference, happening on February 12 and 13. Rasmus Lerdorf is making an appearance (if you’re into PHP, I need say no more), as well as other members of the PHP core development community.

A little further out, we’ll see the popular Northern Voice blogging conference returning to Vancouver for the third year running. While it’s probably a strain for those from out of town to stay on until the 23rd, perhaps the locals (or close enough) among you will get a chance to check it out.

Registration Opened. Payment… not so much.

After opening registration this morning, we’ve been thrilled with the response. Well, the response from all of you; not so much with that of our transaction provider (rhymes with “hay-gal”).

At the moment, our account is locked; we’ve apparently been flagged due to some “suspicious activity” which we’re told stems from the value of a single drop down menu (from legitimate orders, no less). Yeah, we don’t know either. Security thing, no doubt. The upshot of this is that we can’t receive any money at the moment. We hope to have this resolved within the next 12 to 24 hours, but for now, we’re on ice.

Please continue to register in the mean time, though! This only affects our ability to process actual credit card transactions; your registration details are stored in our own system, which is working just fine. We’ll send out a reminder email to everyone who registers between now and when the account is back up and running. Shouldn’t be long. Thanks for understanding!

Update: Weekends being what they are, we’ve finally gotten through and convinced the transaction provider in question to restore our account access. So now it’s just a matter of flipping a few switches over on our registration system. We’ll update again in once that has been done.

Update: We’re back! All’s back up and running finally. Thanks again for your patience and continuing to register in the meantime, feel free to complete your ticket orders now.
